October 29, 2010 MIMOA is organising Architecture @DDW in cooperation with the city of Eindhoven, Design Cooperation Brainport and Trespa. One day filled with architecture, during the Dutch Design Week, the largest design event in The Netherlands. Now open for registration! (and it’s free!)
Following up earlier announcements, we’re very pleased to invite you to join us at Architecture @DDW in Eindhoven. Architecture @DDW will include three separate parts: during the day we will host an exclusive architectural tour through the city of Eindhoven, in the afternoon we will Meet & Mingle at the network reception and at night we will celebrate our third birthday with a sensational international architects party. Both the network meeting and party will take place at the Machine Room at Strijp S.
Note: We will open separate registration procedures for all three parts. If you would like to join more than one part of the event, don’t forget to register seperately for all of them.
Architecture @DDW, part 1:
Exclusive tour through the City of Eindhoven
What’s the plan?
A sneak preview on the programme: At 12.30hr we will gather at the DDW venue, Trespa stand, in the Klokgebouw at Strijp S, starting with a reception with coffee and tea, where we will meet and get acquainted. Cees Donkers, urban planner for the City of Eindhoven, will introduce us to Eindhoven by giving a short lecture on the history of Eindhoven and the recent developments in the field of architecture, which Eindhoven is currently undergoing. After this introduction, architects and guides will lead the participants along various not-open-to-everyone architectural highlights in Eindhoven during an exclusive 3-hours architecture tour. Theme of this tour is ’Re-use’. The Tour will end at approximately 17.00hr at the Machine Room at Strijp S. It will be a complete and inspiring exclusive programme: a unique day you don’t want to miss!
Twitter event: #archddw
We won’t like to miss the opportunity to exchange our thoughts on the projects we will be visiting, on architecture in general, the city of Eindhoven and our ambitions. For the occassion of Architecture @DDW the Dutch architecture magazine De Architect will host a unique Architecture @DDW Twitter Event. We will challenge you to share your thoughts, criticism and compliments via Twitter during the tour and day by using the hashtag: #archddw. Feel free to start using it from of now!
During the network reception Meet & Mingle after the Tour De Architect will present the outcome of the Twitter Event and proclaim the best review, tweeted during the Tour. The winner will be rewarded with fame for life and a nice prize. The Architecture @DDW Twitter Event will be published on the website of De Architect as well.
So if you haven’t got a Twitter account yet, register here and follow the tweets of MIMOA and De Architect.
How to attend this tour?
Sorry! The tour has been closed for registration on Thursday October 14 at noon C.E.S.T.
For logistic reasons, the number of attendees is limited. We will move around in the city (hopefully by bike) in 5 guided groups and we’ve set a maximum of 75 attendees. We’re sorry if you missed the opportunity to register. You’re still invited to join us at the network reception ‘Meet & Mingle’ after wards and the architectsparty at night!
For everyone who signed on: thanks al lot for the huge and overwhelming response! Soon we will make the final selection based on drawing by lot. Monday October 18 at the latest we will inform ALL people who have registrated if they’re selected or not and will inform them on further details.
We’re looking forward to hear from you and meet you in Eindhoven!
Next to the ‘Meet & Mingle’ network reception, we’re also organizing an exclusive architecture Tour during the day and a sensational party at night:
