Nordpark Cable Railway

Also known as Hungerburgbahn or Nordkettenbahn this project comprises (next to the tracks) the bridge over the river Inn and 4 stations: the Congress Station in the middle of town; the Löwenhaus station next to the river Inn; the Alpin Zoo station (on a steep slope in between trees); the Hungerburg station at 863 metres high. Here passengers can join the cable-car to the summit. The Innsbruck citizens get a 20 minutes connection between the city centre and the top of the Nordkette (2.330m), directly from the Congress. A great experience with views over the historic city ánd the mountains combined with new architecture – and not just in winter. New production methods such as CNC milling and thermoforming guaranteed a very precise and automatic translation of the computer generated design into the built structure.
