This project is located in the surroundings of the National Library of France, in a new neighbourhood which is being built on the banks of the Seine over one of the very few pieces of land that the city of Paris had at its disposal. The operation includes a wide variety of uses, integrating homes, offices and facilities in similar proportions and in the same area of the city. Including public rental homes like these in big cities counteracts the effect that high prices that tend to invade the centre of a metropolis, creating homes affordable only to the wealthier sector. In operations like this one, the idea is to curb the tendency that has arisen in the past few years, the tendency to force the majority of the population to look for homes in the suburbs, further and further from the city.
