Jussieu 16M Atrium
Jussieu Campus consists out of a regular grid of 6-floor wings and is generally decried as an architectural failure. The hollow space under the buildings enables wind to build up its force, the regular grid plan is confusing and polluted with asbestos. It has increasingly degraded, leaving its facade covered in graffiti. The new 16M building extends and completes the grid plan that architect Edouard Albert designed in the 60s; based on the existing system, but at the same time deforms it: where Albert laid out a single patio, Périphériques planned two. The façades are glazed on the same pattern as Albert’s existing building. But the glass metal skin composed of ten types of panels perforated with circular holes of different sizes give the façades complex and variable depth. At ground floor, the existing slab on which the university buildings are built folds up in an origami-like orange ramp to even up the levels in a fluid movement.

Suite au développement de mon mémoire en architecture, je suis en quête des visiteurs et architectes; ou étudiants et personnels qui travaillent dans l'université Jussieu Pierre et Marie Curie; avec une position forte sur la problématique que je propose.
Je voudrais les enquêter a propos du projet de l'extension de campus Jussieu par l'agence d'architecture Périphériques, qui a gagne le concours réalisé. En plus, l'agence a gagne en 2006 le prix le plus prestigieux en France dans le domaine d'architecture- le Prix d'équerre d'argent.
J'aimerais lancer une discussion sur ce projet : Quel est votre opinion par rapport au projet lui-même: formes et résurrection d'une mode des années 50-60, ambiances de couleurs, pratique usagée, etc.

Following the development of my report in architecture, I’m in search of the visitors and architects; or students and personnel which works in l' university Jussieu Pierre and Marie Curie; with a strong position on the problems which I propose. I would like to inquire them in connection with the project of l' extension of Jussieu campus by PERIPHERIQUES AARCHITECTS, which has gains the contest carried out. Moreover, the project has gain in 2006 the most prestigious price in France for contemporary architecture. I'd like to launch a discussion on this project: Which is your opinion compared to the project itself: forms and resurrection of a fashion of years 50-60, environments of colors, practices of the space.
