Le Bacchus

Le Bacchus is a wine bar on a barge. The first level of the barge is the wine tasting bar, accompanied by fine food, and the hold is a party room for rent. The concept was to obtain a particular relation to the wine and the wine waiter. That is why high and narrow furniture, benefitting from the slender shape of the barge and offering cosiness and proximity, was proposed. The furniture confers a uniform atmosphere to the bar, stepping out of the register of barges, while still using their qualities and characteristics. The project was also a rare opportunity for a contemporary project in the historic centre of Strasbourg.
