Near the location of the Checkpoint Charlie guard house in Berlin is the Haus am Checkpoint Charlie, a private museum opened in 1963, two years after the wall was erected. The museum was augmented with a new building in the 1980s. A number of apartments can be found in the complex as well. It is the first building from Peter Eisenman in Berlin (text from Wikipedia).
