NRW State Representation
This building is located in the diplomatic district of Hiroshimastraße in Berlin.The immediate neighbours are the embassies of Japan and the United Arab Emirates. The spectacular new building of NRW with its façade of parabolic diamond wood has a 50% lower weight than other houses of comparable size. The Representation of North Rhine-Westphalia in the capital, is essentially made of wood, steel and glass construction. Only in the basement area and stairs for the building material is concrete.The energy of the building differs from the known paths from structural engineering. In cooperation between the state of NRW and the company RWE Plus is the first time in a building this size, the new fuel cell technology and a novel micro was used. The fuel gas can be used for the production of electricity, heat and cold than be exploited.(text from NRW website)
