Some scholars have expressed doubt about just how much of this work is actually attributable to Scharoun. In his English language monograph "Hans Scharoun" published by Phaidon, London, in 1995, (ISBN 07148 28777) the author, Peter Blundell Jones, devotes just one sentence to this building! In the footnote to chapter 11 (where the mention occurs) he states: "The 'partner architect' was Gundolf Bockenmühl and it seems likely that most of the decisions about the execution of the building were made by him, since the only thing reminiscent of Scharoun is the plan." Blundel Jones does however acknowledge that the work is included in "Hans Scharoun: Bauten, Entwürfe, Texte" Edited by Peter Pfankuch, published by the Akademie der Künste, Berlin, 1974, revised edition with updated work list, number 233. The primary reference work on Scharoun.
