Der Neue Zollhof

Der Neue Zollhof is situated at the eastern edge of the Rhine River harbour front in downtown Düsseldorf, near the administrative complex of the North Rhine Westphalia Province. The programme for the project provides 28000 square metres of commercial office space in three separate buildings, promoting a highly open site plan and minimizing the overall mass of the project. The placement of these buildings acknowledges the convergence of Brueckenstrasse and Wupperstrasse toward the site, thus leaving it open to the residential district across Stromstrasse. This massing further provides a counterpoint to the typical horizontal development of the adjacent sites, resulting in a series of clustered, mid-rise towers.
