The 'Dreischeibenhaus' (Three Discs Building) was one of Germany's first skyscrapers to be completed after WW2 and very soon became a landmark and example for future projects. Consisting of three flat buildings ("discs") which are connected, the building of 25 stories was build between 1958 and 1960 by the Düsseldorf architect Helmut Hentrich for the Phoenix-Rheinrohr AG - a steel company which also delivered the steel tubes for its construction.
