Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall

Hamburg will receive an unequalled trade mark with its Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall. The structure is growing upwards on Kaispeicher A. According to plans by architect Werner Kallmorgen, the warehouse was built between 1963 and 1966, and Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron are now erecting a spectacular concert venue on its roof. The core of this mighty and striking structure was completely removed but its cubic shape and brick façades remain intact. Thus, a worldwide unique architectural hybrid is created, complemented with an additional five-star hotel and 47 residences.
