'Romeo and Julia' are Hans Scharoun's first buildings after World War II and his largest 'till then at all. He designed organic floorplans to open the buildings like a fan towards the way of the sun. There are almost no right angles which means that the rooms are hard to furnish according to the needs of the individual users. Yet, the buildings had great economic success, which led to the construction of the 'Salute' buildings in Stuttgart-Fasanenhof, Sautterweg 5.
