In the VIP lounge of the Palace of the Arts hangs a unique chandelier that is modelled on a photo of a human lung. Designed by Krisztian Kelner and Anna Baróthy from the Archus Muhely design studio, the sculpture refers to the 'great living being' that surrounds the lounge - the philharmonic auditorium. The chandelier is made up of 2000 pieces of blown glass. Some 30 glass balls containing compact fluorescent lamps deliver a high luminous intensity. Each of the hand-made 'chilias' has five arms of different lengths. These are illuminated from above by bi-colour (white and blue) neon lighting, giving the chandlier as a whole a gentle radiance.
