Passeggiata Ovest

The project regards the redefinition of a center-strip of Lungomare of the city of Giulianova, Teramo, situated in Abruzzi, on the part north of its Abruzzese Adriatic coast. To reconvert it into a public-pedestrian use, one of the two vehicular tracks is organized on one side. Along a strip of approximately 800m and wide 55m, the following spaces or ambiances are lined up: (from east towards the west) sea side - beach - resort area - Monumental Lungomare - new "rambla". The plan is a landscape plan: it combines the relation with the sea, which is constantly apparent, and the sight from the high points of the historical city and the public square of the "lookout". The plan area is “inhabited" by a series of furniture members (footrest, ombraculo, box). They are placed along the mainland and in the front of sea side. This way, the plan creates new spaces for bathing activities. The "walk west to Lungomare Monumental" represents the combination of land art and landscape architecture.
