Roof Reconstruction and Recovery Attic
The need to remove the old asbestos roof and improve the look of this building to a condominium apartments has led also to recall this attic for residential purposes. The main challenge, therefore, was to find a design solution that would allow to obtain a harmonious (and so energy efficient) new unit with a modern architectural language. The planning took place in 2009, while the work began in July 2010 and completed in September 2011. The roof structure is made of laminated wood. The cover package includes: planks, vapor barrier, insulation Rockwool, waterproofing, ventilation cavity, planks, shingles mantle. The cover is inhabited arc, the other half is not habitable pitched. The new accommodation is composed as follows: living room with kitchenette with a small covered balcony, hallway, bathroom, bedroom, double bedroom. The heating radiator is fed by boiler condensing gas and over 50% of the energy requirements for hot water comes from solar thermal collectors.
