Teatro Regio Torino
In 1936, a fire destroyed the Teatro Regio in Turin. Afterwards, the problem arose of deciding who should be in charge of reconstructing the Teatro. A competition held in 1937 was won by architects Aldo Morbelli and Robaldo Morozzo della Rocca. Their project, however, was never fully accomplished. It was not until 1965 that the city administration proposed a new solution by entrusting the work to architect Carlo Mollino and structural engineer Marcello Zavelani Rossi. Work began in early September of 1967 and the renewed Teatro Regio was completed in the very first months of 1974.
