The project presented here is one of the bigger urban projects under construction on insular Venice. It is located in San Giobbe (the entrance of the insular and historical city, in the popular suburb of Cannareggio, located east of S. Lucia station), the place where it once was planned to build a big hospital designed by Le Corbusier, an operation that would have entailed the demolition of the whole nineteenth-century slaughterhouse complex. In this context originated the general plan for the new campus of the Faculty of Economics by the Ballardini-Spigai group that propound the renewing of the whole area and industrial buildings.
