The building is set on a hillside, immersed in vineyards. Its internal functions are tied on the one hand to grape processing, and on the other to the social life that characterizes the grape harvest and wine production. The structure both protects the delicate wine-making process and opens itself up in harmony towards its surrounding landscape. The technique of construction used expresses an elaboration of those traditions: wood and clay wall coverings, vertical partitions in lime rendered masonry, and curtain walls made of laminated cedar. All the external headwalls use black basalt, typical of the area, gathered from excavations off the lot.
