What does it mean to create a library today? In a world where iPad has introduced a rampant generation of electronic books. Not reading on the internet at home, nor at Starbucks or on a mobile screen on the move, but creating a physical place for books. At the very beginning Fujimoto imagined the Library of Babel by Jorge Luis Borges. An ultimate library containing all the literature ever conceived, a place akin to a forest, a kind of diverse meeting place for people and information. A place where order is constantly renewed, cross-fertilising with one another and amplified.
