Lux Tower
The LUX Tower 007 project, proposed for Luxembourg 2007 is a variation on the outlook tower project the architects implemented in Matsudai in Japan for the Tsumari Triennal in 2003. The request was to present a site in which 'to see and be seen' has been perfectly answered in the form of this little tower. Macro-furniture or micro-building, its size and function made a revision of the previous version appropriate. The three-storey structure is made from galvanised steel composed of very thin tubes which form a kind of corset leading from one level to the next, making the tower seem to be in motion and to be more fragile than it really is. Its metal outer skin, in the form of a network of open diamond shapes, makes the project seem more or less visible depending on the distance of the viewer. Inside the tower a small stairway gives access to a perforated metal platform from which the different landscapes of Luxembourg can be seen in a new light. The project does no longer exist.
