The government department of health had advised the Medical Centre Alkmaar to double the capacity of the x-ray bunkers to 4 bunkers. The design of the 2 additional bunkers is treated differently than the existing building. The juxtaposition of the two pure materials used – timber and stone parallels the patients contrasting experiences during the treatment.
