This control post is an extension to an existing post on the same bridge. It is used by the inner-city-water Amsterdam Municipal services for operating bridge nr 346, the bridges of train rails, guarding the harbour, collecting harbour fees and to organise meetings. The view between the city and the harbour had to be kept unobstructed. That is why a steel-frame structure, with a functional core was made, to lift the over hanging roof. The surrounding glass façade provides a 360 view over the surroundings. The steel frame roof is covered with a green polyurethane coating. The soft green colour refers to the ship building industries, where this colour is used on desk of ships. This way the building confirms the industrial use. The windows of the meeting room are printed with a 17th century sea scape to block the sun.
