An enclosed square with a slight gradient has been designed for the location of the former Torenpassage, a 1950's shopping centre in the city centre of Breda, where new shops and ten maisonettes above them have been implemented. The existing buildings around this square have been renovated and given new fašades. The apartments above the shops in the Lange Brugstraat, which, as in many shopping streets, were empty, have been renovated and made accessible from the enclosed square via footbridges.
The new square is accessible from three streets: the Torenstraat, the Havenmarkt, and the Lange Brugstraat. The square can be closed off at night. Thanks to the relatively low buildings around the square, the tower of the Grote Kerk can still be seen.
