This villa and architects office is located on an 800 years old orchard. The relationship between the modern design and the opposite, monumental farmhouse is confirmed by great contrasts. The new architecture is very modest, because of respecting the monument and the distance between the old and new building is as far as possible.
The building was designed simultaneously with the adjacent orthodontic practice. This creates the design of a combined action of three different volumes: the villa, office and the orthodontic practice.
All the rectangular volumes have a different position relative to the landscape: in the ground (office), on the ground (practice) and above the ground (villa). The fašades are largely transparent because of the special qualities of the landscape; entirely based on the view. Fitting the volumes into the landscape was one of the most important design-issues.
To prevent a large program and volume in the landscape, the working space is sunk into the ground.
