The Dordrecht Gezondheidspark combines sports, living, shopping, education and care in thematic ways. This includes the care boulevard around the fully modernized Albert Schweitzer Hospital. Also added are new buildings to provide space for hospital functions, such as a new radiation oncology department, and features as care, and GAAZ RIVAS, a school, shops and a restaurant. The Albert Schweitzer hospital was created by EGM in the mid-eighties. The plans consists of a synthesis of the special features of this site: an abundance of parking and infrastructure and further north a series of outdated sports facilities. The Da Vinci College, also contributed to the new area development. The Hospital is radically modernized and expanded into a traditional hospital health care boulevard where the offer is extended with various additional services. The old sports facilities south of the hospital are being addressed and expanded to include an iceskating-rink, fitness center, pool and sports.
