Steeman House

In the sylvan environs of Epe, barely discernible from the street, stands an exeptional private house built in 1980 by architect J. Staalenhoef. Twenty years later, the original client wanted to extend the house. Borren Staalenhoef Architecten took the steel frame as a guiding principle. The new façades consist of treated glass that reinforces the self-effacing character of the bungalow. Both exterior and interior are designed with best quality materials to upgrade the modest original house. The result is a magnificent coexistence of both old and new in a house which functions as an icon for building in delicate natural settings.
