XYZ architecten
location Epse
function private house
contributed by XYZarchitecten

Recently XYZ architecten from Epse, the Netherlands, realised a house on a large plot in a forest. The concept is that of the shape of a table in "concrete" look. Below is the living area, which extends to the rear in the floor which is situated on top of the table. This is done in white stucco, while the table is in gray stucco. Because of the entrance of daylight, the front and the rear doors are designed as aluminum curtain walls. The whole house is heated and cooled by means of floor heating with a heat pump. The ground floor is characterized by a loft-like layout. The client wanted to relax, to cook, to paint and to have exhibitions of his work in the same room. Yet he wanted to keep optically isolated certain activities. There is plenty of wall length to exhibit paintings.
