Maastricht Fire Station
To strengthen the robust image of this fire station along the ring road of Maastricht, the façades are made from green-pigmented concrete panels with a relief pattern of car tire imprints. The large garage dominates the front façade as a stage set for the fire trucks, while at the rear one finds the training grounds and the supply areas. The top floor is an attractive living quarter organized around a large reflective water pond and roof terrace. The pond stores rainwater to fill up the trucks and generates a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, compensating for the hectic life of the fire fighters.
