NAI Wiebengahal

Netherlands Architecture Institute Maastricht is the new architecture museum of the Euroregion Meuse-Rhine. It is housed in the Wiebengahal on Avenue Ceramique, adjacent to the Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht. It’s aim is to act as a focus for a public discourse on the past, present and future of the designed environment in the Euroregion Meuse-Rhine. It will host temporary shows on current developments in the fields of architecture, urban planning and design in the surrounding "Euregio" (the three-nation-region Maastricht/Aachen/Liège). It also fulfils a platform function in the area of architecture and design by organizing lectures and debates. Previously part of the Société Céramique factory, the space has a rich history and, as an early example of the New Architecture (Nieuwe Bouwen) style, is also interesting from the standpoint of the history of architecture. The NAI Maastricht is part of the Netherlands Architecture Institute based in Rotterdam.
