This compact, ellipse shaped building as an autonomous appearance has a strong link with its green surrounding area as well by his transparent façades. The design is strongly inspired by the vision of education which is translated in the so-called sandwich construction of three layers. The lower and upper grades are formed by 1 or more home bases, each time adjusted to a group of approximately 400 students. Each home base has its own interior adjusted to the particular group in which a great part of all its daily educational activities takes place. At ground floor level the home base of the lower grades is situated while the second floor is for the upper grades. They meet on the first floor at the heart of the school. In the interior colour is used to create a spatial and functional distinction between the two types of space, the circulation areas and meeting spaces versus the educational and supporting spaces.
