In the renovation of the Salvator Apartment Building in Roermond, a new, physically safe situation was created by intervention and paying attention to several points. First of all, the access to the court is no longer accessible to the public, but privileged to the habitants of the apartments. Originally the courtyard was planned with trees, but it was not executed due to the construction of a car park underneath. However, to preserve this greenery, staircases covered with ivy were designed to replace the trees. Secondly, the forecourt was renovated, privileging the pedestrians. The existing entrance was enlarged with a new hall and functions as a space for entering, meeting and waiting for transportation.
