Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate building

NVE - Middelthunsgate 29 was built 1962-64 as the Administration Building for the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate, designed by the brothers Fr. Lykke-Enger and Knut Enger, with artistic decoration by Odd Tandberg and Nic Schiøll. Parts of the building are currently under conservation. The facade, both exterior and interior, is also preserved. A close collaboration with Norwegian building preservation authorities has strengthened the rehabilitation process. The renovated facilities has become a pioneer project in terms of environmental design and energy-use, and there has been a unique emphasis on environmental- and resource-friendly solutions. The added energy of the building will not exceed 120 kWh/m2year (ie Class B).
