Snekkerbygget

The project is a rehabilitation of existing 3 story, pluss a glass extention on the outdoor facade. A transparent expression on the extention was achieved through thorough detailing and accurate use of materials. The woodworker building was originally the workshop for making interiors for the ships built at Akers Mek. Reestablishing some of the original qualities in the workshop was one of the main goals. Single offices and meeting rooms are gone, and the organization withwork space along the facades and service in the middle is re-introduced. A fixed piece of carefully constructed wooden "furniture" contains toilets, printshop, reception and wardrobe. Technical sollutions are placed below the floor, so the original vaulted ceiling is visible.
