Palmiry is a symbolic place. During the Second World War in the surrounding woods, the Germans conducted a series of 21 mass murders, which killed more than 1,700 Poles and Jews. Since 1973, there existed the Museum of Struggle and Martyrdom in Palmiry that from January 2010 called the Museum - Memorial Pamiry which collects photographs, documents and memorabilia related to the victims of Nazi executions. Head Museum of Struggle and Martyrdom in Palmiry combines historical aspect with the natural values of the area. The Museum covers an area of 1,100 mē and is divided into two basic utility area. The first part (east side) is the exhibition space. The second part of the building (west side) is for additional features such as: administration, technical facilities, toilets. Multimedia exposure scenario developed by a team of historians from the Historical Museum of Warsaw under the guidance of curator Joanna Maldis.
