Forum Coimbra

Forum Coimbra is located on the site of a former textile factory, commanding magnificent hilltop views over Mondego River, the city of Coimbra and beyond. The 48.000m2 (GLA) centre provides 146 retail units, including a 18.000m2 hypermarket, a 6-screen multiplex cinema, leisure facilities and a large food court. Cut into the hillside, the development uses different forms and features towers to create a striking skyline facing the city, appearing to rise up through and above the existing landscape. The modern and functional development is designed around three spacious plazas. Natural elements set the theme for the design and decor of these plazas. The building is perfectly integrated with its environment, achieving significant visibility after converting a difficult, sloping site into an advantage by allowing direct access from the different levels of the car park into all its areas. It successfully anchors a new expansion area of the city.
