FL House

FL House is situated in Peso da Régua, in the heart of the Douro, one of Europe's oldest regions and considered a visual and historic paradise of undisputed value. Having the mountain range of Marão as a backdrop and overlooking the Douro valley, FL House overlooks a magnificent landscape of vineyards sloping in the direction of the river. It is a single-family house, composed of two floors and a basement, with a T4 (4 bedrooms) typology, plus an additional office. Situated on a steep slope, a volumetric redistribution was created to obtain a visual-aesthetic balance. This was achieved by retreating and overhanging the façade, making the house's height visually smaller, thanks to this game of volumes. The house is characterized by its elegance and modernity, yet it respects the environment it's inserted into, through the use of traditional colours and materials.
