Hotel Centar

The façade is defined by the membrane volume and spatial sense. It clears external and internal boundaries, the object becomes transparent, and space in a way continuous. Integration which is located in the very essence of urban space is not unequivocal, but is manifested in various aspects of its use, and this was one of the possible forms of development of the concept of a block within narrow limits imposed by the requirements of the competition. This ambivalence is achieved by fine structuring of the material: the vertical sheet metal strip with periodic interruptions by passing the light, filtering image outside, giving new meaning to contact of the building and its urban environment. The reaction of environment was very turbulent, and provoked many citizens of Novi Sad. Main architect /author of the project is Branislav Mitrovic. Co-authors: Igor Pantic, Jelena Kuzmanovic, Nemanja Zimonjic and Ognjen Krasna. Interior was done by a different office without consulting the authors.
