Caixa Galicia Foundation

The financial institution Caixa Galicia has built a new art gallery overlooking the port, on a prominent location in the city. It houses 4 permanent galleries on the upper floors. A temporary exhibition space and an auditorium are located in the lower ground floors and there is an internet Café and art bookshop on street level. Conference and dining facilities are located on the fifth and sixth floors. The main elevation is clad with glass panelling, with a slender marble interlayer. A transparent holographic projection screen is suspended on the street façade. A full height atrium spans the longitudinal section and forms the backbone of the circulation. It 'slices' the building in section and is completely glazed.
