Magma conference centre

The conference centre is located in Adeje, the main holiday resort of the south of Tenerife. The site overlooks the Playa de las Americas, with views of the sea and the island of La Gomera. Dams, eroded or modelled by the corrugated roof they support, emerge from platforms that have been excavated in the rock and level out the gentle slope. The light structure, finished in zinc sheeting, reflects the changing colours of the sky. Broad box girders cover the large, diaphanous meeting space, which can hold some 3000 people, and support the parabaloids.
