Animac festival pavillion
The balloon was designed to identify Lleida's International Animated Film Festival Animac. Placed in a public space, this element represents the festival from the outside. Its interior worked as the information centre during daytime and as a restaurant during evenings.
The balloon had to be flexible enough to be placed in any exterior public space as well as to be placed in an interior. Therefore Its shape and size had to be very adaptable.
The chosen material for the inflatable balloon is PVC together with a resistant synthetic fibre.
This results in a semi-transparent surface on which images are projected, which allows communication between the interior and exterior. At the perimeter, a bench made out of sandbags, heavy enough to fasten up the balloon to the floor, sets the base. A layer of textile waste from a neighbour factory is added to make the bench comfortable.
