Town Hall
Architect Rafael Moneo designed the Town Hall between 1973 and 1974. The building was built upon the plot of an old headquarters, in the extension of the old town and open to the east urban expansion area of the new Logroņo. Limited by two of the most important axis (north-south and east-west) of the town: Avenida de la Paz and Doce Ligero/Colón, the plot upon which the Town hall is built had the perfect conditions to place upon it a public building such as this one. Logroņo town hall is formed by three blocks- two triangle-shaped bigger ones and another with the shape of a piano for the theatre- which are organized with the intention of finding the balance between connection and independence. The sandstorm stone from Salamanca covers the outside and part of the inside of the building and defines its image.
