Els Colors Kindergarten
A construction set for children generates a variety of compositions which, transferred to the field of architecture, define the arrangement of volumes and spaces of a building. In the construction game, each piece has a different color, underlining its independence. The nursery incorporates this chromatic system in its design, but also the perspective of children and their capacity to perceive the world outside. The facility is laid out in two rectangular arms - one with communal living areas and the other with classrooms - separated by a playground for children and crossed by a transversal piece that links both elements, like a porch. The boundaries of the complex are marked by a fence of metallic elements with a minimum section, diluting their presence. The spaces for children have only one floor and only the staff and management rooms are in the upper floor. The boxes are delimited by coloured glass surfaces treated with acid to achieve nuances that differentiate each classroom.
