El Corte Inglés
The first thing you notice on this new shopping mall in the centre of Pamplona is its façade: created with 7.300 perforated aluminum panels, like large grills. Each of them weighs 30 kg and measures 1,8m by 0,6m. The panels function as sunscreens and occasionally open up to let sunlight enter the interior. Besides clothing the shop houses a restaurant, travel agencies, a supermarket, post office, barber shop, a shoe-repair-shop, etc. The building comprises 10 floors with selling goods and 5 floors of underground parking. The building created 1000 jobs and cost 110 mil euro’s.
El Corte Inglés is situated opposite of the Baluarte, Pamplona’s new congress centre and auditorium.
