The Fluvial Aquarium was conceived as a metaphorical representation of the Earth at the moment continental drift started, with the formation of the continents and the beginnings of the biodiversity. This representation has been brought about through the use of pure architectural spaces permeated with strong symbolism. This is patent in the expressiveness of the forms and materials used in their creation and is further reinforced by interplay of water and light present both inside and on the exterior of the building.
