Point of entry to Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), the Learning Center is a place to learn, access information and live. A place where virtual and physical components are combined. Its very concept includes the flexibility and growth potential to evolve and follow the pedagogical, social and technical trends of the School. It houses the EPFL Library, providing the 10'000 students on campus with 900 working seats arranged in various configurations: silence space for personal work, quiet space for collaborative work and sound-proofed rooms for group work. The Library is public and offers free access to its 500'000 volumes and over 1 million online documents, focused on the School topics: fundamental and applied sciences, and architecture. Besides the Library are 3 restaurants, a bookshop and a multi-purpose hall, next to the EPFL Press, a laboratory for the use of technology in didactics, student and alumni associations and a Career Center.

More info here: http://rolexlearningcenter.epfl.ch/page39471-en.html The Rolex Learning Center is part of the Campus 2010 project, which comprises new student housing, a hotel, office space for EPFL spinoffs and a conference centre scheduled to open in 2012. The projects also aims at redefining and opening the South sector, integrating areas of relaxation, providing a breath of air within the new context of a significant campus.
How to get there? The Rolex Learning Center building site has become an attraction in itself, in addition to the center's stunning, pioneering architecture. EPFL and Losinger have developed a series of visits tailored to different groups, from industry professionals to the EPFL community and people from the neighborhood, as well as others who are curious. email visiterlc@epfl.ch or see their website for more information.
