LOKwerk is a modern shopping mall that's been built on the former industrial zone 'Sulzer Areal'. The main façade is a protected monument and has been therefore left in its old state.

The Lokwerk in my opinion is a very bad example of transforming former industrial zones. The protected main façade is nothing more than the decoration of a contemporary shopping mall. in the inside you can not feel anything of the industrial history of the building. Even the main entrance is located at a point where never has been an entrance to the Sulzer-area.
