South Cheshire College is now one of the largest, most modern further education schemes in the UK. The scheme includes construction workshops and art studios amongst other general teaching areas, sport and leisure all combined in a single building; creating a welcoming campus that encourages learning by fully meeting the needs of students and integrating the teaching of vocational skills with real life business activity alongside the 'academic curriculum'. The campus has been designed to be as environmentally sustainable and as carbon neutral as possible. The College has been awarded a BREEAM 'very good' certificate, this has been achieved through maximising the potential of the site and creating environmental benefits - both in terms of energy efficiency and conservation of natural resources. College Principal Peter Swift said; "A lot of hard work has gone into the project but the campus has been completed on time and we are absolutely delighted with the final outcome."
