The Johnson Building is located in Hatton Garden - renowned as London's jewellery centre. The scheme is a refurbishment of an existing structure, six storeys high. The main entrance is off Hatton Garden, in the centre of the façade, and this links through to a central feature atrium, housing reception and circulation areas. This space is roofed with ETFE cushions to allow daylight into the heart of the structure. To the north, on St Cross Street, is a new series of jewellery workshops. On the Western side of the development, off Leather Lane, is a newly built residential block, with its own external courtyard.
