Sofitel Chicago Water Tower
The Sofitel Chicago Water Tower is a hotel located on the north side of downtown Chicago. Its triangular footprint allows for a knife-like edge that protrudes 10 metres at the top, out over Chestnut St. This serves as a counterpoint to the John Hancock building, a few blocks away, which tapers inward from its base. Composed entirely in glass, the fašade's irregular placement of windows creates a dynamic effect, with reflections shimmering across both the opaque and transparent surfaces.
