This is the first free-standing building for the Contemporary Arts Center, founded in Cincinnati in 1939 as one of the first institutions in the United States dedicated to the contemporary visual arts. It is one of the first bigger buildings Zaha Hadid has designed and the first relatively large museum in America designed by a woman. The building makes you curious about what one can expect inside; especially the staircases are astonishing.
